Based on the theme of "Project-Technology-Capital-Talent", the China Cross-Straits Technology and Projects Fair (called 6.18 for short) is co-sponsored by two dozens of national departments, units and central enterprises including the Fujian Provincial People's Government, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China (MIT), Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC).

6.18 creatively established the working mechanism of "five-day meeting, permanent docking and never ending". Since 2003, a large-scale fair had been held in Fuzhou in June each year, in order to establish a platform for project docking and trading among universities, research institutes, technology centers, investors and enterprises at home and abroad through results display, project promotion, on-site docking or other ways.
